Iris Shapiro DeWoskin writes: Nothing has changed
including the fact that I owe the two of you my apologies for not
writing sooner to let you know how special our reunion was to me and to
thank you for all of your hard work. My intentions were to write as
soon as I got home. Unfortunately, days turned into weeks, etc. and my
note never got written. As I wrote a cousin recently, "I think about
family and friends while I am driving, but when I reach my destination,
I am always focused on something else." That's what happens when one is
68 years old and holds two basically volunteer jobs. I have not even
looked at the reunion pictures on-line. When I go on the computer, it
is to quickly check e-mail, take care of what is imminent and go off
with the intention to get back on sooner rather than later. It never
happens. Thank you for the follow-up e-mail which forced the issue to
write. In addition, the past year was another crazy one - nothing terrible, just crazy. My husband, Alan, had 3 abdominal hernias repaired which knocked out most of December and all of January. On April 2, our oldest grandson became a Bar Mitzvah in Kansas City, KS. Our youngest son is in the process of moving from Philadelphia to Florida - he will become the Associate Rabbi at the Reform congregation in Cooper City, just west of Ft. Lauderdale. Our middle son and his wife are expecting our 7th grandchild (their second child) in November. Unfortunately, our daughter-in-law does have problems with each pregnancy. At least they live in St. Louis (1 1/2 miles from us) so I am available to help when needed. We have weathered (excuse the pun) the tornados which hit St. Louis and much of the midwest without any damage. Just some tense moments. Hope all is well with you in Pittsburgh. Again, thank you so much for all that you did. |
